Jay Talk – 2/15/24

February 14, 2024

While the weather hasn’t been much to talk about, we certainly have lots to discuss in terms of happenings around The J, so let’s get started!

Member Town Hall: On Sunday, March 3, from 10 AM to Noon, we’ll be holding a “Town Hall” meeting with the purpose of asking you, our members, to do a S.W.O.T. analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) of our J. Breakfast will be provided and participation will be capped at 125 members. Interested in sharing your thoughts? To register, contact Andrea at andreaq@vosjcc.org. Questions? Please give me a call.

Pools: I truly apologize for the weather-related delay in completion of the current pool repairs. We hope to be finished this week. If the current modified schedule doesn’t fit yours, please know we’ll reimburse you for any pool-related daily charges you may have incurred at other facilities.

Outdoor Pickleball Courts: Our new Bachus Family Outdoor Pickleball Center will open for play this Saturday, February 17, and we’ll begin taking court reservations on Wednesday, February 21!

Super Bowl: Congratulations to Holly Spinrad who was the winning predictor of the Super Bowl. A free month of membership is on us!

Gym Floor: The gymnasium will be closed from Monday, February 25 to Sunday, March 3, as we perform our annual floor maintenance. For those working out in the Health Club, there will be an odor from the urethane finish applied to the floor. We’ll do our best to “air out” the facility to keep the inconvenience to a minimum.

Camp: Yes, it’s only February, but when I tell you our camp programs are filling up extremely fast, I kid not! Don’t delay – sign up today! For additional information contact:

Shemesh Camp: Erin at erinw@vosjcc.org
Kochavim Camp: Jeni at jenih@vosjcc.org

Swim Lessons: With around the corner, it’s a terrific time to sharpen swimming skills. For information on our Swim Academy, contact Cleo at cleopatrag@vosjcc.org.

Community Happenings: This Sunday, February 18, from Noon to 2:00 PM, Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) will be hosting a free Alumni Lunch at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus. Lunch will be followed by an hour of programming for ZBT’s of all-ages. RSVP’s include undergrads and alumni from ASU, Arizona, San Diego State, Cal Poly, USC, Colorado-Boulder, Michigan, and Wisconsin to name a few. For questions or to register, contact Cassie at cjacobs@zbtnational.org. (No relation to me😊.)

As always, I can’t thank you enough for being a member of our J Family. Please know it’s appreciated and never taken for granted. Have a great day!

Jay
