Regarding Gesher CIT: We made the very tough decision of removing the CIT program this summer as we do not feel campers would get the fantastic experience as they have in the past as a direct result of the many changes we have made to accommodate to safely offer camp due to Covid 19. Please note – we will offer this program next summer.

A Note From Our Shemesh Camp Director

Please know that the Shemesh Camp team is working diligently around the clock to ensure campers have a safe, fun and memorable camp experience this summer. With the fluid situation we are remaining flexible and thinking outside of the box to keep our programming dynamic and engaging. We sincerely look forward to having your children at camp with us this summer. See you soon.

Here’s what some of our Shemesh Camp parents say:

Between friendships made, and experiences gained, my child always came home happy and excited to tell us about all the fun she had at camp.

It's not easy coming to a new camp and not knowing anyone. After day one, my son had made friends and couldn't wait go back for day two!

We sent the girls to 2 other camps this summer after starting at Shemesh, but they begged to go back, so we switched them back for the last week and they went from unhappy to ecstatic to be back. They loved the movement, activities, friends, and overall vibe of the camp. A very positive experience!

Shemesh provided the environment that allowed my girls to socialize in a safe, controlled setting. Shemesh also provided enriching activities that helped make summer vacation both productive and fun.

Stella had the best time at camp. She had so much fun going on her first field trips, forming relationships with staff and, most importantly, improved her swimming throughout camp. Stella enjoyed new experiences by participating in activities she hasn’t done before, and is now interested in doing those activities a lot more!

Thanks to The J, our son knows a little more about Israeli culture, has a ton of new friends, and a newfound sense of self-confidence thanks to the awesome adventures he experienced.

My son was a CIT and I feel it gave him a lot of insight on how to deal with young kids. It made him feel more responsible and learn how to problem-solve more often. He very much enjoyed the challenge of working with the young kids.

Here’s what a few of our Shemesh Camp staff say about the best part of working at Shemesh Camp:

Spending a lot of time with the kids and meeting and bonding with co-workers.

Watching returning campers grow up. Seeing the smiles on campers faces at the end of the day.

Getting to know each individual child, watching them learn, and learning new things like Israeli culture with them.

Family-like atmosphere and Tucson trip!

I loved how organized each day was and the organization made me calm and happy to be around the kids. I also loved my uplifting co-counselors and leadership to depend on.
