BODYPUMP™
The ORIGINAL barbell class! Endurance strength training where muscle and music collide! Suitable for all levels… The fastest way to get in shape! Level 1-3. No one under the age of 13 allowed.

Bosu Bootcamp
Begin your day strong! Commit to a strength and endurance workout that will take you out of your comfort zone and increase your fitness fast! This class will use the BOSU (or both sides up) and other equipment to provide a heart-pumping, complete body workout. Be prepared to work hard!

J Barre Fusion
This fusion class will incorporate movements from ballet and Pilates that will develop long lean muscles, core strength and dynamic balance and flexibility. This workout will integrate both standing and mat work along with using equipment such as; weights, discs, Pilates rings, body bar, Lebert Equalizer, and other various props. Level 1-3.

J Cross-Train
If you are someone that likes variety, then you will love the spontaneity of this class. Fusing together intensities and different types of exercises creates intervals and variations that shock your body. This full-body class will include body toning with weights, bands and/or body weight. Level 2-3.

Cycle Barre
This class is a 30/30 format. Enjoy rolling hills, steep climbs, flat roads, and high speed interval training as you challenge your heart for 30 minutes on the bike, followed by ballet and Pilates moves that will develop long lean muscles, core strength and dynamic balance and flexibility with movements off the bike.

Fit for Life
Work your entire body and increase your flexibility and strength in this class tailored for mature adults. Level 1-2.

Forever Fit
Let’s get physical! Enjoy energizing exercise for the body and the brain. The goal each class is to increase heart rate while engaging the mind. This class will take place mostly standing, but also has a seated option. Recommended for ages 55+ but everybody is welcome!

Heart & Sole
A low impact workout for all fitness levels. This class will improve your cardiovascular endurance, strength, and balance. Level 1-2.

H.I.I.T Kick

This class fuses H.I.I.T. training and kickboxing to increase your fitness, agility, and endurance. A variety of equipment will be used, including Bosu balls, jump ropes, and lightweights. Ideal for levels 2 through 3.

The Mashup
A workout for all levels that includes Strength & Agility, HIIT, and Mind Body. This is an amazing fitness combination that will have you achieving results faster while working on your cardiovascular and strength endurance. Level 1-3.

Pilates Reformer
Develop lean muscles as you improve your core strength. Our reformers allow you to tailor your workout to your fitness level.

Step Strong
Step Strong is an energizing workout using a height-adjustable step and full body movements on, over and around the step. “Step” back in to a class developed as a high intensity, yet low impact workout. Improve your Strength, Coordination and Endurance by learning choreographed routines. Level 1-3.

Strength & More
Use weights, bands and your own body weight to build strength and endurance, increase bone density and decrease body fat as you increase your lean muscle mass. Level 2-3.

Tai Chi
An ancient Chinese exercise that contributes to physical, mental and spiritual well-being. A series of dance-like movements are linked in a continuous, smooth-flowing sequence. These easy-to-learn movements are progressive and coordinated with deep breathing to circulate and balance your body’s vital energy or chi.

Yoga
We offer a variety of yoga classes for all fitness levels and abilities, from restorative to yoga flow. Increase your strength, flexibility and mindfulness.

Chair Yoga
Still your mind while building strength, flexibility and balance as we practice yoga with the aid of a chair. This is a great class for individuals who want to learn yoga in a safe, stable way. Level 1-2.

Gentle Yoga
Gentle back- and core-strengthening postures relieve stress and increase flexibility, balance and mobility. This class is great for beginners and those wanting a gentle practice. Level 1-2.

Restorative Yoga
Learn to relax deeply and leave each class feeling rejuvenated! Blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps support the body in restorative poses. Level 1.

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is meditative practice which accesses deeper connective tissues and fascia. Increase your mobility, balance and peace of mind as you lubricate and protect your joints. Level 1-2.

Zumba
Get energized with red-hot international dance moves to spicy Latin rhythms. With the infectious music and easy-to-follow steps, you’ll be hooked!

Aging Backwards

This one-hour, zero-impact exercise for active adults 55+ rebalances the entire body by simultaneously stretching and strengthening all 650 muscles and 320 joints to pre-choreographed music. Join us!

Aqua Core
This 30-minute shallow-water class focuses on core strength, full body toning, stability, endurance and range of motion. Level 1-3.

Aqua Deep
You control the intensity in this 45-minute deep-water workout. Flotation equipment stabilizes your posture for a no-impact, full-body workout. Must be comfortable in deep water. Level 1-3.

Aqua Fit
Improve your cardio fitness, endurance, strength and flexibility with this low-impact, 45-minute shallow-water resistance workout. Great for beginners and advanced participants. Uses buoys, noodles, kickboards and Aqualogix™️ bells. Level 1-3.

Aqua Tabata
This 45-minute, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) shallow-water workout improves your cardio fitness, endurance, strength and flexibility. Interval variations make this a great class for beginners to advanced participants. Level 1-3.

Virtual Personal Training Packages

At a time like this, it is a good moment to reiterate how important it is to always focus and make time for your health.

Fitness is incredibly beneficial in so many ways, and we want to emphasize how it can strengthen your immune system. The one thing that you can actually control at this moment is how you are going to maintain your fitness. We have created a virtual personal training option that will hold you accountable for staying on top of your health, and making sure it does not fall through the cracks!

Virtual PT sessions are all 30min
All sessions are completed by using a video chat app on any device of your choice (phone, computer, laptop, tablet, etc.)

How will Virtual Personal Training work?
At the first session, you will create and discuss your current and future goals. Secondly, you will complete a health and physical activity readiness questionnaire, and finally you will finish with a virtual assessment.

After session 1, your trainer will create your customized fitness program, and you may begin your fitness journey.

Each session you and your trainer will discuss how your workouts are going, reassess where you are with your goals, and make any modifications that are appropriate. You will also receive a copy of your workout routine so that you can workout throughout the week in between sessions with your trainer.

J Swim Academy
Our J Swim Academy fosters academic and physical excellence through swimming. The academy is a year-round tiered-structured swim program that teaches water safety to all four competitive strokes, advancing from J Babies to J Squad.

All classes are based on 30-minute sessions once or twice a week.

J Babies
Ages 6 months to 3 years
Maximum: 6 parents and 6 babies per class
This class helps young children to be happy and safe in, around and under the water. This class creates special moments with mom, dad or a special family member (with the help of a teacher) while children enjoy the water. Through games, songs and routines, students learn to float on their backs and to be comfortable submerging and breathing. Students may advance to J Grads or J Prep, depending on their skill level.

J Grads
Ages 18 months to 3 years
Maximum: 3 students per class
This class is for children who have graduated from J Babies. Children are introduced to pop-up breathing, streamline kicking, advanced back float with kicking and overarm freestyle stroke. Upon mastering these skills, students may advance to J Prep Level 1.

J Prep
Ages 3-5
Maximum: 4 students per class

Level 1
J Prep Level 1 teaches children to prone float and to streamline kick unassisted for five yards with their faces in the water except when recovering to breathe. They also learn to back float. Upon mastering these skills, students advance to J Prep Level 2 or J School Level 2, based on age.

Level 2
J Prep Level 2 teaches children the overarm freestyle stroke (no breathing) and kicking on their backs. Side breathing is introduced, as well as the butterfly and breaststroke kicks. Upon mastering these skills, students are eligible to advance to our J Prep Level 3 or J School Level 3, based on age.

Level 3
J Prep Level 3 is geared towards strong swimmers who have achieved all the Level 2 skills. The main goal in this class is to master side breathing and backstroke arms with kicking. It also introduces butterfly and breaststroke arms. Upon mastering these skills and being able to swim freestyle and backstroke for 15 yards, students are eligible to advance to one of our J Squad programs.

J School
Ages 6+
Maximum: 5 students per class

Level 1
This class is for school-age children who are learning to swim. Students become comfortable submerging and floating on their backs. Streamline floating and kicking are also taught. Upon achieving these skills, students can progress to J School Level 2.

Level 2
This class is for children who are comfortable in the water, but have limited swimming experience. Students learn overarm freestyle stroke for five yards, side breathing, backstroke kicking and kicking for both butterfly and breaststroke. Upon mastering these skills, students can progress to J School Level 3.

Level 3
This class concentrates on teaching freestyle with side breathing and correct backstroke. It also introduces butterfly and breaststroke arms. Students must be able to swim both freestyle and backstroke for 15 yards to advance to J Squad Level 1.

J Squad
1-Hour Classes
Ages 6+
Maximum: 8 students per group

Level 1
This class places greater emphasis on all four strokes: back, breast, butterfly and freestyle. It also introduces flip-turns and basic dive progressions. Students must be able to swim both freestyle and backstroke for 50 yards and butterfly and breaststroke for 25 yards to advance to J Squad Level 2.

Level 2
Emphasis is placed on endurance, performance, perfecting all four strokes and mastering all competitive starts and turns. Upon mastering these skills, students may advance to the J Swim Club (JSC).

J Swim Club
J Swim Club is a year-round swim team for youth ages 5-18 of all levels, as well as collegiate swimmers. We are affiliated with USA Swimming and Arizona Swimming LSC. Our certified coaches help each swimmer to reach his or her full potential and to compete in local, regional, and out-of-state venues. Swim competitions range from novice to national levels.

J Masters
J Masters is designed for swimmers ages 19+ of all skill levels who want to swim for recreation, health, and competition. Practice sessions are led by our USA/USMS-certified coaching staff. J Master swimmers also have access to clinics throughout the year and private instruction upon request.

J Private Swim Lessons
We offer private lessons to people of all ages and skill level who are seeking a more personal approach to learning to swim. Lessons are taught by certified instructors and coaches and improve stroke technique, sport performance and build a healthier lifestyle.

J Lifeguard Training Classes
Register in one of our monthly American Red Cross-certification courses that teach: lifeguarding responsibilities, rescue skills, and includes CPR/ AED for the Professional Rescuer certification. Participants must complete two prerequisite skills:

  • Swim 300 yards continuously, using freestyle (front crawl) and breaststroke
  • Swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object in both hands (head out of water), and climb out of the pool without using the steps or ladder within 1 minute 40 seconds

In addition, participants must be age 15 or older by the completion of the class. Proof of age is required the first class day. Registration is final.

Class Fee: $275 includes CPR mask.

Ventura Basketball Academy

This year, The Jeff Berkowitz Youth Basketball Leauge will look different* but be no less fun. In place of our usual games, The J will offer weekly progressive skill building and training sessions, fun games, and competitions, as well as a physical fitness component. This format will be a huge advantage for players looking to learn, improve their skills, build confidence, and support their development. Each week training and games will focus on different fundamental skills of basketball.

 

There will be eight weeks of skill development and competition based on Jeff’s values of respect, integrity, perseverance, and community; each week, training will focus on a different fundamental skill of basketball.  Additional program features include:

  • Skill development, practice, and FUN!
  • League jersey
  • Special challenge/competition days and events
  • Closing awards banquet

Calling all Kindergarten through Grade 4 kids on Fall Break! Join us for a week of fun in the sun! We will offer a COVID-friendly program where we will keep children in the same pods all week. Groups up to 12 children will go swimming, have sports in the gym, enjoy crafts, science, and games!

To ensure we provide the safest environment possible, we will only be accepting kids for the full five days to ensure children remain in consistent pods.

Late Fees

There is an additional $25 late registration fee for campers who are registered on THURSDAY before each week begins, and a $15 late fee for AM and PM Extended Care.

Refund Policy

The last date for a full refund for Intersession Camp must be requested at a minimum of 1 week prior to camp. At the fifth day, 50% refund is given. Four days or less there is no refund.

We want The J to be your t(w)een’s home away from home, so we created a new membership just for them. For just $30* a month, children 11 & 12 years of age can work out in our cardio area, play basketball, hit the racquetball and sports courts or just hang out in the Teen Lounge with friends. Those 13 and older can also use the weight room and aquatics facilities without parental supervision. Does not qualify for member discounts on programs, including camp.

PJ Library of Phoenix’s 4th Annual Family Camp

Camp Daisy and Harry Stein in Prescott, AZ

Join PJ Library for a fun-filled, action-packed weekend to include: Shabbat and Havdalah, arts and crafts, nature walks, kosher-style meals, rock wall, ropes course and more! Space is limited. Families will be housed together. Living accommodations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees include: meals (Friday Shabbat Dinner-Sunday Breakfast), programming staffing, activities for each family member attending and free childcare.

JACS Support Group

This group provides hope, strength and support for Jewish alcoholics and addicts, as well as their families and friends. All are welcome – affiliated (from reform to orthodox) or unaffiliated – with Judaism; connected or alienated. Spouses and children of addicts, parents dealing with the pain of their loved one’s addiction, and addicts who are struggling or celebrating sobriety from across the spectrum of Jewish life come together to create a strong spirit of unity. Jewish Study Group: Nosh & Knowledge

PWR!Moves™
This program helps those with Parkinson’s to improve functional movement. Tailored exercises target motor and non-motor PD symptoms. The class levels below are adapted for individuals to participate with minimal to moderate levels of disease severity.

PWR!Moves™ 1

PWR!Circuit™

Integrates the previous PWR!Moves™ skills into a more advanced workout with instructor-guided exercise stations. Stations include cardio, strength training, agility, coordination, balance, and flexibility. Participants must be able to walk 150 feet on their own unassisted without the use of a cane or walker. Participants must be able to get up and down from the floor on their own with or without the use of a chair and be able to cognitively follow instructions independently.

Parkinson’s Boxing

Fight back against Parkinson’s! This 45-minute class improves stamina, speed, coordination, postural imbalances and encourage deep breathing. Participants must be able to walk 150 feet unassisted. Pre-registration required.

Parkinson’s Cycle

A fun-filled stationary cycle workout to music that awakens areas of the brain effected by PD while strengthening the lower body and improving motor skills. Participants must be able to walk 150 feet on their own without the use of a cane or walker. The participant must be able to get on and off the bike and to follow instructions independently. Please arrive 10 min early to prepare on the bike.

Parkinson’s We Move Warrior

Industry experts motivate participants as they work on balance and gait, strength and posture, range of motion, cognition, as well as core stability and quality of movement. A free pre-assessment evaluation ensures classes are the right fit. Participants must be able to walk 150 feet unassisted and without the use of a cane or walker, able to get up and down from the floor on their own and to follow instructions independently. Pre-registration required.

Chair Yoga

Yoga is practiced while sitting or standing, using the chair for support. Improves flexibility and balance while incorporating deep breathing and a mind-body connection. Participants must be able to walk 150 feet unassisted and without the use of a cane or walker, able to get up and down from the chair on their own and to follow instructions independently.

The Great Dreidel Hunt

Family Fun Presented by Shemesh

This event is for children 3 years and older.

Grab your family and come to The J fields for a Hanukkah adventure on December 6, 2020

Music, dreidel hunt, prizes, sufganyot, latkes, and tons of activities for the family presented by Shemesh.

 

Families will be able to be socially distant while celebrating Hanukkah with the community.

 

Pick the time that works best for your family! This event is for children 3 years and older. Two children included per family, an additional fee per extra child. Masks are required.
