Jay Talk – 6/13/24

June 13, 2024

Energy, energy, energy!!! That is what you feel just about any time you currently walk into The J.

With great numbers in both of our camps (Kochavim and Shemesh), pool usage, classes, Pickleball,
basketball, individual workouts, and more, whether you have been with us for a while, or are new to The
J, we can only say thank you! It’s great to see everyone each day!!

Our pool parties are rocking and rolling. Our next two are Sunday, June 23, where we’ll be going
Hawaiian and our Red, White, and Pool celebration set for Sunday, June 30 (which will have Chef JoJo
from Capital Grille joining me on the grill). The fun is always from 11am to 1pm. RSVP to Andrea at
andreq@vosjcc.org. There’s no party this Sunday (Father’s Day).

Let’s talk a little about the parking lot. Please remember lots of people (including a ton of kids) walk in
the lot. So:

 • Please stay off your phones when driving in and out of the facility.
 • The STOP signs are there for a reason. So, please STOP unless we’re directing traffic and waving
you through.
  • If we’re directing traffic, please adhere to what we are asking you to do. Our goal is to get you in
and out of the lot as safely and efficiently as possible.
 • And please remember that during camp, the Sweetwater entrance/exit is closed from 8:30 to
9:30am and 3:30 to 4:30pm weekdays.

Parents, please keep an eye out for information about our Club J after-school engagement program.
With some incredible new classes, it’ll be a bit different and better than ever. Information will be
coming, but to get it sooner contact Erin at erinw@vosjcc.org.

Know someone who just might be interested in joining The J? Bring them and we’ll gladly provide them
a guest pass to “try us out.” When they join (yes, being positive 😊) and let us know that you referred
them, you’ll receive a FREE month of membership. A true win-win!!

Our annual J Gala is set for Saturday, December 7. The honorees are Adam Brooks (Irv Shuman Award)
and Beth Jo Zeitzer and Adam Nach (Habonim – Builder Award). With amazing honorees, great
entertainment, and lots of extras, it will be a terrific night. The event is chaired by Ellen Lindzon and
Gary Weiss. Sponsorship opportunities are available (contact Jessica at jessicam@vosjcc.org). Save the
date and watch for additional information coming soon.

And with the hot weather upon us a reminder – Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate.

As always, thank you for being a part of our J family. As we move on into summer our commitment
remains – to try to meet and exceed your expectations each and every time you come into The J.

Have a great Father’s Day weekend,
