BBYO for Grades 9 - 12

BBYO is more than just a youth group—it is a teen movement bringing together thousands of Jewish teens from all over the globe, all types of Jewish backgrounds, and all types of interests. BBYO is teen-led, it is a break from family, school and athletics to a place where you have a say! Unbelievable opportunities to socialize, lead your peers, volunteer in the community, join a sports league, participate in activism, navigate the college admissions process and travel the world!

Maccabi Youth Program

A keystone of our teen activities is the Maccabi Youth Program. The VOSJCC provides the opportunity for Jewish teens ages 13 to 16 to participate in the largest annual gathering of Jewish Youth—the Annual JCC Association Maccabi Youth Games. The JCC Maccabi experience is a Jewish social experience with athletic competition. By participating in community service projects held during competition week, being part of a team atmosphere, and practicing good sportsmanship, student athletes have a chance to explore their Jewish heritage and develop social skills that will help their journey through life. The JCC Maccabi Games helps to produce leaders for the Jewish and general communities.

VOSJCC athletes are encouraged to participate in Youth Sports programs on a year round basis, and, if selected, participate on Maccabi Team Phoenix. The VOSJCC has brought teams of Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Bowling, Volleyball and Flag Football to a number of venues throughout the United States on an annual basis. The Games are held in different locations around the US and are sponsored by the local Jewish Community. Past years’ games were held in San Diego, San Francisco, and in 2006, the Games were hosted in Phoenix.
